Madrid is the 10th most livable city in the world according to Monocle magazine- 2010. Madrid is the fourth most visited city in Europe, it is well known for its large quantity of cultural attractions and possesses many historic neighborhoods and streets. The favorite tourist attractions are: the Royal Palace of Madrid; the Teatro Real (Royal theatre), the Buen Retiro park, the 19th-century National Library building and the Golden Triangle of Art.

The museums are other of the most important Madrid attractions, the principals museums are: Prado Museum, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the Museum of the Americas and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.

The traditional Madrid has many festivals; most of them are related to Religion: San Isidro Labrador (Madrid patron saint- 15th of May), San Antonio de la Florida (13th of June), Virgen del Carmen festivities (16th of July), San Lorenzo (10th August), among other festivities. The food in these festivals is very important, the traditional meals in Madrid are Sopa de Ajo, Gallinejas and Entresijos, Callos a la Madrileña, Cocido Madrileño, Oreja de Cerdo, Besugo, etc.

The nightlife in Madrid is vibrant and exciting. There are many Tapas bars, clubs, jazz lounges, cocktail bars, live music, flamenco theatres and establishments of all kinds, for all tastes and ages.

Some people are surprised that Madrid is almost slap-bang in the centre of the country of Spain. The somewhat strange decision by the Franco regime to have the capital in the geographic centre means that it suffers from stifling heat in the summer, but that does little to detract from the beauty, culture and architecture that lies at the heart of Spain. While not benefitting from the cooling coastal winds or beach pursuits, it has an atmosphere that is unique and plazas, palaces and cathedrals galore to excite even the most jaded tourist. Living in Madrid is a more stressful experience than visiting, and it’s certainly something that anybody considering removals services to Spain should heavily consider. The traffic is simply appalling, and the traditional Spanish ‘siesta’ and two-hour lunch break means that, if travelling home at lunchtime, you may have to experience the dreadful rush hour four times every day. You’ll work late into the evening, and eat even later as night draws in – it’s simply the Spanish way. Eating out in such a way can be exciting, but it could also be draining if you’re not prepared for it. As with any move to a foreign country you must be ready to embrace a totally different culture, both at work and outside. You would also have to buy an international calling service which will provide the calling facilities at low rates. So that you can get in touch with your loved ones at any point of time.
